I'm Joshua Vomberg.

I'm 19, I build websites for small businesses in Cape Town, and I build every one myself — so the person who answers your message is the person who made your site.

I'm open about how I work: Claude Code builds alongside me, which is why a hand-coded site takes me days, not weeks, and costs a fraction of an agency. Thirty-five sites in, that's still the whole method.

A fair question

Yours — with or without me

It's a fair question when you hire one person: what happens to your site if I'm not around, or you need something changed?

You own it

Your domain is registered in your name. While you're on the care plan I pay the yearly renewal (about R99); if you ever cancel, it's billed to you directly. At launch I email you a copy of the whole site — the files themselves, not a login.

You change it yourself

Every site includes a simple editor — an email invite, no account to set up. A plain form with just your words and photos, so the layout stays put. Change a price, tap Save, live in about a minute. See it.

You're not locked in

There's no hosting bill at all — not in my name, not in yours. The only running cost is your domain (about R99 a year), and it's registered in your name, so if I'm ever gone you renew it yourself and nothing switches off. The care plan runs month to month; cancelling it doesn't switch anything off. It's built from ordinary web pages — any web developer can work from your copy.

Common questions

I already take orders on WhatsApp and Instagram — why do I need a website?
Keep them! The website works with them. It catches the people who Google you before buying, shows your full menu or products with real prices while you're busy, and takes the order or booking without you typing a word. Every order it handles is one you didn't have to stop and answer. Ask me anything on WhatsApp.
Will it work with the tools I already use?
Yes. If you take bookings on Fresha, Setmore, NightsBridge or similar, your "Book" button plugs straight into it — nothing breaks, no double bookings. Shops can run on Shopify or fully custom. And if you use none of that, orders and enquiries come straight to your WhatsApp.
Do I own my website?
Yes. The domain is registered in your name and the site is yours. No lock-in contracts — the care plan runs month to month and you can cancel whenever you like with a month's notice.
What happens to my site if you're not around one day?
Hosting is free, and your domain is registered in your name — if I'm not around to renew it, you renew it yourself (about R99 a year) and nothing switches off. The live site is published from my hosting account, which is exactly why you get your own copy of the whole site from day one: any web developer — WordPress or not — can put it back up anywhere or carry on with it. Your site's editor is a free tool, not something I run.
Do you do SEO?
Every site I build goes live SEO-ready: fast, properly structured, with your Google Business profile, Search Console and the basics set up from day one. Ongoing SEO, the month-by-month work of climbing the rankings, is a specialist job, and I'll happily introduce you to people I trust for it.
How long does it take?
From go-ahead, most sites are live in about a week to ten days once I have your photos and details. You see the design early and shape it with me — nothing goes live until you love it.
What does the R450/month care plan cover?
Every site comes with it from launch, and your first month is free. It's a flat R450 a month, whether or not you need anything that month. It covers your domain renewal and hosting management, a monthly check that everything works, and your updates — new products, prices, photos, specials, changed hours. You WhatsApp me the change and it's done within the week, up to about an hour of work a month (unused time doesn't roll over), and I'll handle seasonal updates before you ask. Bigger jobs, like a new page, are quoted upfront. Cancel any time with a month's notice: the site stays yours and keeps working, and changes are then R350 an hour. And if you'd rather manage it yourself with the editor, that's fine too — the site is yours either way.
What does it cost to keep running?
Very little. Hosting is free on the setup I use, and your domain costs about R99 a year, in your own name so it's always yours (and covered while you're on the care plan). The R450/month care plan is the only ongoing cost — included from launch, first month free — and it's there so you never have to think about any of this.
